Opt In: You will need to opt-in to electronic storage of registration papers through your member Login. Once done, animals are eligible for electronic transfer and registration certificates with the most up-to-date EPDs will then be available through Login.

At registration, you can opt out for individual animals to ensure you receive a hard copy. Even animals that are not e-stored can be seen in Login, they just can't be transferred to a new owner.

Get A Printed Copy: If your animal is e-stored and a printed copy is required for a sale or check-in at a show, you can request one be printed and mailed to you by going to My Herd – Registration Certificate – Request Printed Registration Paper in Login or by emailing angus@angus.org. There is no charge for this service.

E-store Entire Herd: You can move your entire herd online by mailing your paper copies to the office to be uploaded to your Login for future access at no charge.

The American Angus Association® is actively working to reduce paper usage and streamline other services. Along with e-storing registration certificates, members can enroll in paperless billing and our newest feature, automatic dues renewal. These options and more information about them can be found under My Account in your AAA Login.

Members can register animals by submitting a paper form or electronically (Login, spreadsheets, or AIMS).

Review registration and transfer instructions

Once the registration application is received in the office, we strive for a turnaround time of two business days. The animal will be available in your AAA Login account the morning after the registration is entered.

To transfer an animal, you must provide the sale date, indicate if you would like to retain ownership, and provide the following buyer information: customer code (if known), name, complete address, and email. Service must be reported for bred cows over one year of age or be reported as open.

Electronically stored animals are eligible for electronic transfer. Transfer requests can be submitted through AAA Login, spreadsheets or AIMs.

Animals that have a hard copy registration paper require the sellers’ authorized personal signature.

Members can pay using AAA Login. Visit AAA Login - My Account - Pay Your Balance to select a saved payment method or add a new payment profile. You can pay by credit card or bank account/ACH.

To pay by phone call: (816) 383-5100

While you can’t use the registered Angus logo to market your animals, the Association has created other logos that can be used by members.

Powered By Angus

The Powered By Angus logo was created to help buyers easily distinguish between registered Angus genetics and unregistered cattle. As a member we encourage you to use the logo when marketing to commercial producers.

Delegates are nominated and elected to represent their states each year. Those delegates then attend the national convention where they vote on the new Board of Director members and officers.

To be eligible to nominate or be nominated as a delegate, members must meet the following requirements by the early April deadline:

  • Be an active regular or life membership (dues paid in full by the deadline).
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Registered at least one animal or completed at least $250 of business with the Association or Angus Genetics Inc. within the preceding 12 months from when the nomination period begins.
  • Be current with all financial obligations to the American Angus Association and all its subsidiaries when the nomination process begins.

Emails will be sent out annually as deadlines approach, so make sure your current email address is on file in AAA Login.

Contact information

To change your address, email or phone number you can view your existing member information in AAA Login under My Account, my AAA member information and either use the comment box "enter changes here" at the bottom or email us at angus@angus.org.

Transferring

Certain types of memberships can be transferred.

  • Junior members aging out can convert their membership to become a regular member.
  • Associate members, who have been assigned a membership number with the transfer of a registered animal into their name, can keep that same number when converting to a regular or lifetime membership.
Adding or removing names on a membership

New names can be added to a regular membership to facilitate a change in leadership or management. Only those whose names are listed as owners on the current membership can make a request to the Association to make a change.

Members can submit requests to aaamemberships@angus.org.

Partner Form: We have a partner form to collect signatures - to add a partner; all partners will need to sign. To remove a partner, only the leaving party needs to sign.
Agent Form: We have an agent form to collect the signature of the newly authorized party; one account owner can request to add or remove an agent. Agent and Partner Change Forms can be requested by contacting Member Services: angus@angus.org  or 816.383.5100.

In the event of a sale

The new owner of the ranch will need to take out a new membership. Animals purchased as part of the sale will need to be transferred through the Association.

In the event of death

If the deceased member is the only one listed on the membership (in their personal name or a farm name) the membership will need to be temporarily suspended and the code will not be able to be used until a death certificate or obit and legal papers are received.

Once the legal papers are received, the executor/executors will replace the deceased's name and the legal documents will be kept on file.

If the membership is in a farm name with two or more owners and one is deceased, the deceased individual will be notated. Nothing more will need to be done unless the partners want their name removed. If so, follow the above steps to add the executor in their place. This membership can still be used since there is more than one owner listed on the membership.
