Roll of Victory (ROV) Program
This program gives attention to the individual show-winning animals themselves (rather than entirely to their sires and dams) with continued recognition to the sires of major award winners.

ROV Program Requirements & Rules
The distinction given to the higher placing show animals and winners of the greatest number of points include:
- Show bull of the year
- Show heifer of the year
- Show sire of the year
- Show dam of the year
- natural calves
- embryo transplant calves
- Show breeder of the year
- Division champions of the year
- Cow-calf pair of the year
- Get-of-sire of the year
- Junior get-of-sire of the year
Please note the following details:
- If a recognized ROV show splits a championship division, championship points will be awarded accordingly. All five super ROV shows will receive full points for all championship divisions within a particular division when that division is split.
- One person cannot judge more than one ROV Show in the same show year. A person cannot judge an ROV show and the NJAS owned and bred-and-owned heifer shows within the same show year.
- Recognized point shows may submit three judges' names (in order of preference) to the American Angus Association by February 1 (the year preceding their show) to be approved by the board of directors. If the recognized point show does not wish to submit names the American Angus Association will make the selections.
- Judges MUST NOT be contacted before they are approved.
- If a Recognized ROV Show has less than 70 Head shown starting this show season, it will be placed on probation, meaning it will have one year to increase number of head shown back to 70 or more; if it shows less than 70 for two consecutive years, it will lose ROV Status. If a Super ROV Show has less than 100 Head shown, it will be placed on probation, meaning it will have one year to increase number of head shown back to 100 or more; if it shows less than 100 for two consecutive years, it will lose Super ROV Status. Events and Education Department will notify each show as soon as it has been put on probation.
- Canadian registered cattle must be registered with the American Angus Association by entry deadline of the individual shows to be eligible for ROV points.
- Points are earned only from the designated shows held within a show season, June 1 - May 31. Points can only be earned at two super point and two regular point shows per animal. Starting with the 2010 ROV Show Season, if an animal competes at more than 2 super point shows, the points from the third and fourth super point shows can be given at a regular point level. An animal may be shown in as many shows as desired.
- For show bull and show heifer of the year, points are calculated from class placings, division champion and reserve division champion, and grand and reserve grand points. For division champions of the year, points are calculated from division champion and reserve division champion placings only.
- For Breeder of the Year, points will be allowed from the top two super point shows and top two recognized point shows, per animal, in a show season. An animal may be shown in as many shows as desired. Starting with the 2010 ROV Show Season, if an animal competes at more than 2 super point shows, the points from the third and fourth super point shows can be given at a regular point level. An animal may be shown in as many shows as desired. Member codes for immediate family member codes of the entity (farm/ranch/breeder) may qualify towards the award. Member codes of the entity must be submitted to the Events and Education department prior to June 1st of the new ROV show year calendar to qualify. Download the form to submit member codes for Breeder of the Year below.
- Points will be awarded to those animals that place in the individual classes. Points will also be awarded to the following divisional champions and reserves, as well as grand champions and reserve grand champions. If a division has 30 more head, the division may be split into Early and Late divisions and full points will be awarded for the split divisions; this will be at discretion of AAA staff.
