Show Classifications

Across the United States, many shows qualify and receive premiums from the American Angus Association. Shows must follow these classifications and the American Angus Association premium participation statement to receive funds.

Roll of Victory (ROV) Shows

The American Angus Association sponsored Roll of Victory program gives attention to the individual show-winning animals themselves (rather than entirely to their sires and dams) with continued recognition to the sires of major award winners. The system also places attention to the winners and sires and dams of winners on an annual, current year basis, rather than on accumulation of points over many years.

Junior Shows

The National Junior Angus Association (NJAA) sponsors regional and national shows for junior members 21 years of age and younger. Visit NJAA to find a list of shows, conferences, and rules for youth members.

Premier Breeder

The premier breeder of an Angus junior or open show is the breeder (individual, farm or ranch) who has bred the highest placing animals.

Judge selection process

The American Angus Association’s Events and Junior Activities Department maintains a list of individuals who have experience in evaluating livestock. To be placed on this list, a nomination form must be completed and sent to the Events and Junior Activities Department to be reviewed by the Activities Committee.
