The American Angus Auxiliary celebrates monumental moments.

A newborn calf rests quietly in the barn next to its mama, a new bull enters the herd bringing fresh genetics, a newly graduated student prepares for the unknown world of college or a career ahead of them.

All of these moments mark a new dawn of possibilities unique to their individual situations. The American Angus Auxiliary aims to celebrate these monumental moments that shape or begin a new era in life.

The diligent women who make up the American Angus Auxiliary have worked tirelessly for students to have the ability to set their big dreams into motion through our scholarship program, which now awards $20,000 to 10 Angus enthusiasts. This program allows five young women and five young men an opportunity to embark on their college journey to learn more about their chosen field while networking with their peers. We want to ensure their successes so the future of this great breed, Association and Auxiliary can remain prosperous.

The month of July is always filled with new and exciting moments. The annually anticipated National Junior Angus Show (NJAS) has always been a favorite in my own household.

Although my own kids are now retired and no longer on the lead of a halter, I can still remember the hustle and bustle of packing the trailer, finding the right show clothes, and practicing the script for the All-American Certified Angus Beef Cook-Off Contest. The thrill of waking up excruciatingly early to embark on a long journey to be with friends and share a week of fun is a memory many can relate to. The week is filled with exciting moments that will surely last a lifetime. To that I say, safe travels and good luck to all who are exhibiting both in and out of the show ring at this year’s NJAS!
