National Angus Bull Sale Sets Pace for Spring Sales

Twenty-nine Angus bulls sold in Oklahoma City for an averaged $16,448.

Angus breeders consigned 29 bulls to the 85th annual National Angus Bull Sale, hosted by the American Angus Association during Cattlemen’s Congress, Jan. 5 in Oklahoma City, Okla., which grossed $477,000 and averaged $16,448.

High-selling lots

The high-selling lot, DBA Heisman 3122, was consigned by Double Barrel Angus, College Grove, Tenn. The January 2023 son of Ingram Heisman 0566 sold for $130,000 and was purchased Gutwein Angus, Francesville, Ind.; Green Mountain Angus Ranch, Ryegate, Mont.; and Hart Angus, Frederick, S.D.

Express Angus Ranches, Yukon, Okla., consigned the second high-seller, EXAR Bedlam 2936B, a September 2022 bull sired by GAR Home Town. Maple Lane Farm, Shipshewana, Ind.; Griswold Cattle Co., Stillwater, Okla.; and Nowatzke Cattle Co., Michigan City, Ind., purchased the lot for $70,000. 

Other high-selling bulls included Ingram Marksman 3619, consigned by Ingram Angus, Pulaski, Tenn. The January 2023 son of J Trademark 1037 was purchased by G3 Farms, Decatur, Ga.; Reisig Cattle, Hardin, Mont.; Circle K Farms, Cornersville, Tenn.; and Faith Angus Farms, Whitwell, Tenn., for $30,000. 

Ingram Guardian 3610 was consigned by Ingram Angus, Pulaski, Tenn. 7 Oaks Angus, Durant, Iowa, purchased the January 2023 son of Sterling Bond 007 for $25,000. 

Gutwein Angus, Francesville, Ind., consigned GAP Regiment 2107. Twinpine Angus, Adin, Calif., purchased the August 2022 son of Wilks Regiment 9035 for $19,000.
