Following another successful National Angus Bull Sale, American Angus Association regional manager Jeff Mafi says members of The Business Breed should be excited about the upcoming year. Thirty-five bulls sold in Oklahoma City, Okla., Jan. 10 during Cattlemen’s Congress for an average of $20,885 and a gross total of $731,000.

“For this 86th annual event, our producers once again brought some of the best genetics to Oklahoma,” Mafi says. “I think quality shows in the sale report.”

Despite only offering six more bulls than last year’s event, total profits were up more than $200,000 from last year.

“Angus breeders work hard to create efficient, top-notch livestock in a competitive industry,” he explains. “As an Association, we’re excited to see that work being recognized in the sale ring. As a regional manager, I can definitely label this year’s event as a success.”
