Items donated and sold at auction are included in the giving levels at the cash sales value for both the donor and the buyer. If an item is sold in conjunction with other in-kind donations, the gift value of an individual item is established at its estimated retail value.
honorary Angus foundation award
In 1985, the National Junior Angus Association initiated the Honorary Angus Foundation to recognize and show appreciation to those who have shown extraordinary interest and support for young members of the American Angus Association. In 1985, the NJAA Board of Directors honored seven Angus breeders as the first inductees of the Honorary Angus Foundation. In subsequent years, a maximum of three inductees will be honored annually.
Any member of the American Angus Association is eligible to nominate individuals or organizations for the Honorary Angus Foundation.
Award nominations are due March 1 of each year.

A NOTE TO OUR DONORS
The Foundation recognizes its responsibility to maintain both public confidence and private trust. The Foundation openly discloses information about its policies, activities, financial statements and other information that would provide a further understanding of its objectives and operations. In turn, the Foundation honors its obligation to maintain donor confidentiality and to pursue accepted business practices with regard to human resources, legal, real estate, financial and other matters.
As part of the Foundation's reporting responsibility, the following items are made available:
- An annual financial audit conducted by a qualified accounting firm.
- An annual report of giving and Foundation activities.
- Written policies on the disbursement of gift funds.
- Investment policies, expenditure guidelines and performance reports.
- IRS tax form 990.
These items are available from the Foundation upon request.
